Clean yourself at a Temazcal

Hello Travelers!

Last Weekend we went for another time to clean our bodies, minds and souls in this amazing Temazcal session and then had a refreshing bath at the amazing river nearby.

For those of you who don’t know a Temazcal is an ancient sweat lodge which originated with pre-Hispanic Indigenous peoples in México. The word temazcal comes from the Nahuatl word temazcalli (tema (to bathe) and calli (house)).

The Temazcal is a curative ceremony thought to purify the mind, body and spirit. The ceremony is only to be led by elders who know the associated language, songs, traditions, and safety protocols. Otherwise, the ceremony can be dangerous if performed improperly.

So far, our guests have loved the experience and have been very respectful with the tradition. The experience is complimented by a pleasant bath at the river and a nice meal at a local, sustainable restaurant.
