About your host
We are Liz Oseguera and Israel Andalon, superhosts for more than two years in Airbnb. Through this time, we have committed to give a plus to our guests by taking them to explore the wonders of our region. One of the trips that we enjoy the most is this hike to Colomitos and Las Animas. We have knowledge in the area, we are sensitive to different needs, we speak several languages and we like to surprise our hosts with details they don’t expect. In our fan page “Alalibre” we have received several good comments about our trips.
What we’ll do
We will have a magical experience in the tropical jungle where you will watch a variety of birds and maybe iguanas and crabs. If we are really lucky, we might watch a mantarray or a sea turtle. You will enjoy the authentic and charming town of Boca de Tomatlán, and the Horcones river. We will walk together through a path in the hill that leads to Colomitos. When we reach the beach, you will have a delicious lunch from Israel’s brother café ELforoteo. After eating, we will enjoy the beach, and we will end our trip with a long 1 hour hike to Las Animas Beach. There we will have a drink break in a local spot called “El Pichón” (optional) and return in public aquatic transport back to Boca de Tomatlan.
Where we’ll be
We will take the highway south of Vallarta. During the trip we will appretiate different beaches. We will arrive to Boca de Tomatlán, a charming fishermen town at Horcones River. We will cross the mountain covered by beautiful palms and Ficus. After 1 km, we will arrive to Colomitos beach, one of the smallest beaches of México, unreachable by car. We will have a break and then continue the hike to Las Animas.
What else you should know
The experience includes a 6km walk under the heat and is not suitable for people with heart or joint problems or pregnant women. Minors are under the complete responsibility of their parents.
